a few things i've consumed in the last 24 hours

delivery bbq chicken and fried okra

strawberries and pineapple dipped in strawberry cream cheese mixed with marshmellow fluff, cucumbers soaked in vinegar, celery and carrots dipped in thick ranch dip.

cornbread from scratch, the mix sizzled when the hot oil was added, sizzled when it was poured into the oven heated cast iron. crunchy and moist and delicious with pinto beans and thick sliced ham.

tea left to steep all day, dark and chilled with sugar.

So somewhere around Knoxville, with Tom Petty's 'It'll All Work Out" playing in the background going about sixty-five on the 40 my front left wheel popped off my car and went flying down the interstate. Some interstate incident response people chased down the tire.  It was one of the scariest driving experiences I've ever had (and that's not a short list) the guy who saw the whole thing and stopped said my jaw was just dropped the whole time. The car (Duchess) survived and made it to Chattanooga ( at my step-grandmother's house/ late grandfather's house eatin a snickers ice cream bar, watching television, looking at old family photographs) but she's making some scary noises.
