julia of alagarconniere & some prints I sent her
Back in North Carolina, the drive here was dull, thank god. Last night was Willy Tea Taylor and The Harmed Brothers and Kegs and Free BBQ so this morning is slow and water and cigarettes and sketching some things for the boys. Also I loved waking up this morning and reading a super sweet post from my old internet pal Julia, A Love Letter to Internet Friends. Read more of Julia's blog than that post, she's fiercely intelligent and critical and inspiring and I have learned so much/ benefitted so much from getting to know her! Her blog alagarconniere.wordpress.com/ ranges from her love for photobooths to why gwen stefani is an appropriative asshole and those are just a couple of the more recent posts I have favorited, if you know me much at all I'm sure you can tell this is a person after my own heart.
I've been scouring southern flea markets, antique shops, thrift stores and soon I will share these collected treasure with you, soon as I have the time and space to photograph them (still not sure where I'm going to be this week, on tour or with my step-grandmother): the most gorgeous black dress ever (it's a miracle it doesn't fit me or I wouldn't be able to part with it) from the forties in amazing condition, a beautiful lace dress from the sixties, camel hair skirts, metal jewelry, antique medicine bottles and magazines with personal icons on the cover...wait and see friends.
