this is something I wrote one night in february when I was angry and have added bits and pieces it since, if you disagree gtfo.

it bothers me that anyone I know (especially/mostly on facebook and daily interactions in america) isn’t aware; it isn’t about not being OFFENSIVE it’s about not upholding Oppressive thought/speech/actions, white people (in most most circumstances) wearing the following are upholding racism, stereotypes, exotification and/or fetishization of POC cultures; bindis, saris, dia de los muertos costumes/face paint, native american headdresses, regalia or fake regalia, gypsy is an ethnic slur, tranny is also a slur, slurs are used to dehumanize people different from us, using the word nigger casually just because you think you’re above racism/buy into the idea that we are in a post racial age is bullshit, ‘retarded’ for something you don’t like still isn’t okay (did you think we were just taking a break?), being fat doesn’t mean you’re unhealthy, being thin doesn’t make you healthy, if you're a white cisgender heterosexual middle or upper class male you have more privilege than almost anyone and the things you have achieved in life were helped by those privileges, body policing is wrong, so is is slut shaming, girl hate is gross, supporting palestine doesn’t make you anti semitic, you weren’t a POC in a past life I don’t care how big a hippy you are and you’re not a shaman either, not all black people are AFRICAN american (or american at all), rape is NEVER funny, neither are predators, grammar correction can be classist, so can you, there isn’t any such thing as reverse racism, ableism is real, so are mental illnesses, triggering someone is a big deal, being on food stamps doesn’t make you a parasite, if you don’t eat you die, sometimes homelessness is a choice, sometimes it isn’t, engrish is racist, so are you. /end rant
I will add that everyone makes mistakes and that personally I believe that empathy is always a valuable tool but I also believe that empathy and forgiveness are two very different things and forgiveness requires sincere apologies and most of all change.
bolded for emphasis. think for a moment about why you’re trying so hard to defend something that even one poc/minority/oppressed person tells you is offensive/oppressive? why is the reaction not, yikes better stay away from that? when is a fashion statement ever worth more than equality and humanity?
